Sixth Form Enrichment Curriculum

There are periods in the week designed to add a further dimension and depth to the A level curriculum described above. A range of courses is available:

The Enrichment Programme involves the students rotating between courses which include Food and Nutrition, Current Affairs, Spirituality & Health and Study Skills & Leadership. Within the rotation there is also a General Studies course which, through lessons and visiting speakers, leads to the students sitting the A2 General Studies examination at the end of the UVIth year. We are particularly proud of our extensive programme of lectures and visits arranged for our Sixth Form; a copy of the programme can be obtained from the Admissions Registrar.

Within the Enrichment Curriculum there are lessons provided for those wishing to retake GCSE English and/or Mathematics whilst extra tuition is provided for students from overseas to improve their English and to prepare for the IELTS examination, which is an essential qualification for entry to a UK university. Those students wishing to apply to Oxford or Cambridge, and other highly competitive university courses, are guided by a member of staff who is responsible for putting in place a programme of extra work.

For students new to Worksop College, who have not benefited from the extensive Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) programme in the lower school, support in ICT is available. We have excellent ICT resources throughout the School which are constantly being upgraded and it is important that students are able to make full use of these resources in their academic study.
