A levels at Worksop College buck national trend; rise in percentage achieving A* & A
It is refreshing to see that whilst the national press writes of a reduction in the number of A* and A grades awarded, the pupils and staff of Worksop College have bucked that trend with an increase in the percentage of pupils gaining an A or A*; indeed the percentage achieving the gold standard A* grade more than doubled in a single year.
Worksop College’s new Headmaster, Gavin Horgan said, “Most students who wanted to have secured a place at University, many of them on their first choice course and, yet again, a significant number will go to one of the top twenty Universities in the country. It gives me great pleasure that my first task is to report such successful results for the Upper VIth. This is a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of pupils, to the support of their families, to the dedication of their teachers and to the work of Roy Collard. I congratulate every one of the Upper VIth on their achievements.
Many have exceeded their ambitions this summer and below is a snapshot of some of the outstanding results achieved by our pupils."
