Worksop College Hosts Prep Schools' Golf Tournament
Worksop College and the College Pines Golf Club were the venues for this year’s Prep Schools Golf Tournament which took place on Friday 15th June. Teams from 5 Prep Schools as well as Worksop College staff, parents and Old Worksopian teams participated creating 10 teams of 4 players. The golfers met for drinks and lunch in the Great Hall before moving up to the College Pines Golf Club, however, a sudden downpour and thunderstorm delayed play albeit briefly.
To increase the competitive nature of the tournament, there were ancillary prizes on 3 of the holes, however, the main challenge was a hole-in-one competition on the 15th. As sponsors of the event, Stratstone of Doncaster donated a brand new Mini as the hole-in-one prize, although there was no need for any player to make space on their drive as the prize remains unwon!
Following the game, the golfers returned to the College for tea and a presentation in the Great Hall, with Cundall Manor being crowned the winning Prep School.
