Introduction

Knowing that your child, whether a day, flexi or boarding pupil, will be supported every step of the way throughout the challenging years of adolescence, can make all the difference to your experience as a parent.

Every external Inspection at Worksop College has highlighted the excellence of our pastoral care.

"The excellent concern for the well-being and development of all pupils is a hallmark of the school, and fully supports its stated aim to provide a caring, family atmosphere." (Inspection Report 2009, para 2.18)

Your child will be a member of one of our eight houses where the support, care and guidance stems from the housemaster or housemistress and their team of tutors, but also depends greatly on the pupils themselves for we nurture a sense of looking out for your peers, and encourage leadership from the very first term.

Community, belonging and a deep seated sense of friendship play a major role in each pupil’s time at Worksop College, and your son or daughter will find security in the extended family of their house. With that security come a sense of well-being and confidence that enables pupils to flourish as individuals.

As you will see from the house portraits found by clicking on the crests on the ‘Houses’ page, each house is slightly different in its emphasis yet each engenders loyalty that lasts for years after leaving school.
